If your electricity is not connected by the agreed connection date R&W Connect will arrange suitable accommodation and cover reasonable out-of-pocket expenses providing that it was R&W Connect’s error that caused the inconvenience. Also, if a supplier is at fault, R&W Connect will work with you to seek compensation.
It is always best to give your electricity retailer plenty of time to turn the power on at your new property. If it does slip your mind, then in most cases you can still get your power turned on (without additional charges) if you submit your request to R&W Connect before 11 a.m. on the (business) day before you move in.

If it does slip your mind, then in most cases you can still get your power turned on (without additional charges) if you submit your request to R&W Connect before 11 a.m. on the (business) day before you move in. If you are in this situation and require an urgent next day connection - please call us as soon as possible on 1300 096 646.
If your property is a new home, the electricity can take up to 20 days to get connected so make sure you check with your builder that the electricity meter is installed or will be installed by the time you move in.
Firstly we check when you need your electricity connected. Connections typically occur on a week day as electricity distribution companies who are responsible for turning on the power may charge additional fees on weekends.
We then ensure we have all the necessary details to arrange a connection at your new home such as your new street address, and the location of your electricity meter. Occasionally we may need to ask you for your NMI which is a unique number typically written on the electricity meter at your new property.
Once these details have been finalised, we can organise your connection with your chosen electricity provider!
